Can Someone Just Explain What Just Happened?
I just want to start by quoting myself from last week:
This is the part of the season where things can still get shaken up before the College Football committee get locked in a hotel conference room for the first time (That's early November), so if you want to mark a week for potential chaos and mayhem... This may be your week!
What I didn't mean was for any surviving BCS computers to go into meltdown, the AP Poll history book to take a look and say 'Yeah.... This is mental', and for #1 Georgia, #2 Notre Dame, #5 Indiana, and #7 Texas to all lose... With #3 Miami having to go to Overtime against Florida State. Florida friggin State!!!
Two of these games (Indiana and Texas) you could argue was a possibility, with Indiana losing because they forgot where a foot needed to be to be inbounds (Amongst many other things, including a charity donation worthy doink), and Texas realising that they got the TEMU / Alibaba version of a Manning. I'd be surprised if 'Omaha' would be translated to 'Guangzhou' at this point. Steve Sarkisian said that 'Everything' needed to be reviewed after that game, and I entirely agree. Cignetti was typical Cignetti in his remarks, and as a Hoosier fan, whilst I'm not 'glad' we lost, I'd rather have a close game with a loss to help motivate the team for the rest of the season, especially after the close call with Nebraska. Sometimes you do need some of College Football's favourite word: Adversity.
Georgia had a tough physical game against Alabama. They had a tough physical game against Alabama's fiercest rival Auburn, but the Tigers found a way through. Toilet paper galore, though it does beg the question, where does it all come from? Do Auburn fans carry a couple of rolls on their person at all times on a Saturday? In all seriousness though, Georgia went 30 minutes of football without any points, and against a stout defence, there's only so much that a comeback can give you.
Watch on YouTubeNotre Dame @ BYU ended with two controversies, one about the clock, and one about a DPI. I'm not entering clock-gate V4.2, but the DPI call was close - a miscall. The thing is though, especially as conference play allows more synergy between officiating crews, you are seeing more 'play ball' than mid 2000's Association Football where everything became a foul. As the games mentioned above, you can focus on one call, or you can look at everything over the course of the game. Aside from Provo hospitality in giving out ice cream at the end of the 1st (Which would be a good way to quiet a crowd down), BYU not only showed up, but showed that there's still life in the XII.
Oh. Alabama are now a 2 loss team, losing to Tennessee. I have a cigar that I'll get out the next time I get Jupiter into the communal back garden over a walk. Poor thing is also tuckered out and mildly confused!

Notes
Links to the AP and Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the week will be added once available are available below, just keep scrolling. Non Ranked teams are included for educational purposes only, primarily in terms of working out where the Go6 race is currently heading, and how far teams have fallen / gained over the past week. A pure T25 ranking limits the ability to digest some of this data.
This Week's Pick'Em is open for business. You can choose as many games as you want, you are not confined to the entire list of 56 games for this week (Bye weeks are kicking in). You can access the complete FBS W-L records (Broken down by complete & conference W-L records) in the following Spreadsheet, as it's too long to paste here.
Similarly, This Week's UK:CFC Confidence 10 Pick'Em is open for business. If you have no idea what this is, then there's a nice handy guide for you to explain everything. This week's games have a variety of T25 Matchups, closely matched teams, and a curveball. Because why not!
Links to TV viewing for games will be added once available. As mentioned previously, AAW Network have been producing their own guide, including the week that I was off ill, and rather than try to replicate the wheel, I'll just link to that as it's easier and will hopefully lead to less confusion / errors.
Please remember the policy on NOT sharing non-authorised live streaming of games.
Adding HIGHLIGHTS of already completed games is fine, as the NCAA / TV Networks don't seem to mind, and some schools post their own content anyway.
ESPN, FOX, CBS etc normally post full highlights by Monday Morning. Clip highlights before that.
Finally, please remember, rivalry talk is great. Clearly hateful / person bashing (Especially fellow forum users) is not. Be Kind! :

As it pertains to the tie-breaker, it determined no positions this week, so is largely moo (You know, like a cow. Moo).
MPR Weeks stands for Minimum Participation Requirement Weeks. This recognises that the competitions have started mid - season, and therefore participation may fluctuate from early - later weeks. MPR allows for fairness in determining champions for each competition, whilst still allowing new members to participate. More detail can be found here.
And on that note, please begin! 😆
